This excellent little (OSX only) application DeskLickr has spread around the office I work in like wildfire.

It simply changes your background wallpaper at specified intervals using pictures from Flickr. You can pick photos by interestingness, tag, a username, a group etc. and handily you can set it to use only large enough images (i.e. ones you don’t have to stretch).

Dolphin Stranded on Cleveleys Beach, Blackpool

I heard a rumour yesterday that a dolphin had washed up on Cleveleys beach - I was doubtful, but here are the pictures to prove it:

After trying to get the dolphin back into deeper water, without success, the coastguard wrapped the dolphin in a wet blanket and took it away to care for it.

I do wonder if anything like this has ever happened on Cleveleys or Blackpool beaches before. I find it quite unusual but maybe there are a few dolphins around.

If anyone has any further information or stories do let me know.

Direct Link to Radio 1 “Listen Live” Online Stream

For those of you that listen to Radio 1 over the internet, this might come in handy:

It is the direct link to the online stream, so you can paste this into an application like Winamp, VLC or whatever you use instead of having to keep a browser window open.

I am sure BBC don’t mind you using it like this but the url is buried in the html and is quite tricky to find (because of the frames) so hopefully this will save you some digging.

Canon MP210 Arrives

Just a quick note that the Canon MP210, which I showed previously how you can get for £15, arrived today and is fantastic.

The print quality is great, scanning is top notch and looks damn nice (if a bit on the big side).

It comes with print cartridges but not a USB cable (pick one up from Amazon for £1 or so).
